A light lesson of basic workflow with pencil drawn for tabun.everypony.ru

Fast transcription:
There's a diferent kinds of pencils: from H to B. H is a hard pencils used for making sharp lines, B is soft pencils, used for shadings. There's defernt kinds of B and H, to specificate this a numbers from 2 to 9 used. Just B or H considerent as B1 and H1. HB-is a common pencil.
Hands photo: two left photos -this is how we used to hold pencil and pens, used to draw a sharp lines; two right - to draw shadows hold a pencil like this. main idia: most of pencils' lead touch the paper, not just a peak.
Try to get few pencils with diferent calber, write down caliber of your pencil and then draw 5 cubes near it. Then, on the most right cube press as hard, as you can, while filling cube with pencil color. On the left cube press as light as you can, while filling cube with pencil. Then, try to fill other cubes the way, they will create a gradation between the most darken color you can get from your pencil, to most dark one. Repeat with other pencils.
Then you can try to draw a gradients, and even to imitate a 3d objects. Try to draw deferent objects like cubes, circles or pyramids, imitating their 3d shape.

Big hand foto: take a look at your free hand. Then start drawing it.
For the first time draw only space surrounding your hand, or the outline of your hand. Don't try to draw some kind signs to help your self while drawing it, just take a new pieace of paper and start drawing.
After you winish this one, start drawing your hand as geometric shapes. Look at your hand and try to find some, and write them down.
Thirs time - switch hands. If you drawing with right hand, take a pencil in your left hand this time and draw your other hand.
Forth time - take a long look at your hand. Spend about 10-15 minutes to study your hand, then close you eyes and draw it. Imagine your hand to yourself and imagine how you draw it on the paper.

After compliting this basic exercises try to take some simple object like cup and draw it, using knowledge from this lesson.
